'Group of Death' of Champions League 2022/23

Every year, there is unavoidably a "group of death," and this year is no exception. Group C has unquestionably provided some great ties. Only two of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Inter Milan will be able to move on to the next round, thus it should be a highly exciting matchup.

Real Madrid, the defending champions, will have to make the difficult trip to Glasgow to meet Celtic. They include Shakhtar Donetsk, who will play their home matches in Warsaw, Poland, due to the continuing violence in their nation.

Erling Haaland, a new striker for Manchester City from Norway, will face Borussia Dortmund, a German team, in Group G. The majority of bookmakers have already pegged Pep Guardiola's squad as favorites to win the trophy for the first time.

With all due respect to their competitors, Tottenham seems to have fared the best among the British clubs. Chelsea must be confident in their chances of moving on, and Group H promises some exciting games. Benfica of Portugal will not be taken lightly by either Juventus of Turin or PSG, the French champions.

Rangers will compete in Europe's elite competition for the first time in more than ten years as they square off against Liverpool. Ajax from Holland and Serie A powerhouse Napoli will make things difficult for either of the British teams.

Draws for British clubs are mixed

After defeating PSV Eindhoven, Rangers advanced to the group stage for the first time in 12 years. The Scottish team will play six-time European champion Liverpool twice in Group A.

Group A is made up of Ajax and Napoli.

In Group F, Celtic competes against Real Madrid, the record 14-time champions, as well as RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine, who play their home matches in Warsaw, Poland, due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Tottenham will be optimistic about moving through after being placed in the same group as Eintracht Frankfurt, Sporting Lisbon, Marseille, and the winner of the Europa League the previous season.

In Group E, which also includes RB Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb, Thomas Tuchel's team will try to move to the knockout round even though two-time champion Chelsea has two challenging matches against AC Milan.

In Group G, Manchester City will face Sevilla and FC Copenhagen as well. In Group E, Paris St. Germain and Juventus will face off twice.

But in Group C, one of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, or Inter Milan will be eliminated. Between them, the three clubs have won 14 European championships.
